Techniques

Our therapist has extensive training and clinical experience in a number of treatment and rehabilitation methods. She will employ the one(s) that best apply to your condition. Here are some of the most common options:

Lymph Drainage - Gently stimulates the lymphatic system to assist in reduction of swelling. Often used for swelling in the lower limbs and after a mastectomy.

Deep Tissue Massage - Used to relieve severe tension in muscles and connective tissue (fascia). Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, or are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), or who have sustained physical injury.

Myofascial Release - A technique used to stretch the fascia and to release bonds between fascia and muscles, with the goal of eliminating pain and increasing range of motion and balance.

Neuromuscular Therapy - Addresses certain ailments that cause pain; such as a lack of blood in specific areas of the tissue, irritable trigger points, nerve compression, postural distortions and biomechanical problems that cause faulty movement patterns.

Swedish Massage - Massage using long, flowing strokes.  Particularly helpful for those suffering from stress, poor circulation, pain, joint stiffness and osteoarthritis.

Trigger Point Therapy - Massage designed to deactivate trigger points within the muscles that may cause local pain or refer pain and other sensations, such as headaches, to other parts of the body.
